How to transcribe a Spotify podcast.
Spotify's own transcripts can't be copied or downloaded. Here is how to get one you can keep.
Copy the episode link
In the Spotify app, open the episode, tap the three dots or Share, then Copy link. On desktop, right-click the episode → Share → Copy Episode Link.
Paste it above

Why not Spotify's transcript?
Spotify shows captions. It doesn't give you a document.
Spotify displays auto-generated transcripts for some episodes while you listen. They help you follow along, but you can't select the whole text, download it, search across it later or see who said what.

Which Spotify shows work?
Any show that also publishes an RSS feed, which includes almost every podcast you can find on Apple Podcasts or other apps. Spotify Originals and Spotify-exclusive shows only exist inside Spotify, so there is no public audio to transcribe. If a link doesn't resolve, try the same show's Apple Podcasts link or upload a file you own.
Is this allowed?
CastTranscript never downloads from Spotify. It uses the audio file the publisher distributes openly in their RSS feed, the same file every podcast app plays. Use transcripts for reading, research, quotes and accessibility, and ask the creator before republishing a full transcript of their show.

Can I get a transcript of a Spotify podcast?
Yes. Paste the Spotify episode link into CastTranscript. We find the same episode in the show's public RSS feed and transcribe it into text with timestamps and speaker labels.
How do I copy a Spotify episode link?
On mobile, open the episode, tap the three dots or the Share icon and choose Copy link. On desktop, right-click the episode and choose Share → Copy Episode Link. The link looks like open.spotify.com/episode/…
Why can't I copy Spotify's own transcript?
Spotify shows transcripts as read-along captions inside the app and does not offer a copy or download option. CastTranscript creates a separate, editable transcript you can copy and export.
Why does my Spotify link not work?
The show is probably a Spotify exclusive or Spotify Original. Those have no public RSS feed, so there is no audio we can fetch. You can upload an audio file you have the right to use instead.
Can I paste a Spotify show link instead of an episode?
Yes. A show link returns the latest episodes from its public feed so you can choose the one you want.
