Private by default
Transcripts remain inside the account that created them. CastTranscript v1 does not create public or expiring share links, and private transcript pages are excluded from search indexing.
Media retention
Uploaded video source files are scheduled for deletion after 24 hours. Audio needed for refinement is kept for 72 hours. Starting a refine pass locks that audio until processing finishes, then keeps it for a further 24 hours. Transcript text remains in the account until the owner deletes it.
Model providers
Batch audio may be processed by OpenRouter and Microsoft MAI-Transcribe-2. Live audio may be processed by xAI Grok Voice Transcribe 2.0, or by Meta Muse Voice Transcribe when that route is configured. Show notes may be processed by the configured language-model provider. CastTranscript does not use customer media or transcript text to train its own models.
Provider retention and training behavior depends on the provider account and data-control settings used for deployment. CastTranscript does not claim provider zero retention unless that setting has been enabled and verified in production.
Deletion and logs
Deleting a transcript removes its retained source and audio chunks together with the editor document. Operational billing and provider-cost records may be retained for fraud prevention, accounting and incident response.
